Report: Obama funneled millions to destroy Trump

Former President Barack Obama has reportedly funded millions of dollars to groups focused on tearing down President Donald Trump’s conservative agenda.

“Wall Street might be shocked to learn it is helping bankroll the anti-Trump ‘resistance’ movement that’s aggressively fighting policies it favors – including corporate tax cuts and the repeal of Obama-era banking and health-care regulations,” The New York Post’s Paul Sperry reported. “The Obama administration’s massive shakedown of Big Banks over the mortgage crisis included unprecedented back-door funding for dozens of Democratic activist groups who were not even victims of the crisis.”

Pay to destroy

The ultra-Left organizations receiving millions of dollars to destroy Trump and his conservative White House plan may not come as a surprise to many.

“The three groups are The National Council of La Raza, the National Urban League and the National Community Reinvestment Coalition,” Townhall divulged from the recently revealed development.

The stiff opposition the president is currently experiencing in a number of areas have everything to do with his predecessor’s machinations that were orchestrated from behind White House doors before the keys were handed over to the Republicans.

“At least three liberal nonprofit organizations the Justice Department approved to receive funds from multibillion-dollar mortgage settlements were instrumental in killing the ObamaCare repeal bill and are now lobbying against GOP tax reform, as well as efforts to rein in illegal immigration,” Sperry pointed out. “An estimated $640 million has been diverted into what critics say is an improper, if not unconstitutional, ‘slush fund’ fed from government settlements with JPMorgan Chase and Co., Citigroup Inc. and Bank of America Corp., according to congressional sources.”

The underhanded dealings show the great lengths Obama went through to try and demolish his successor and his plans.

“The payola is potentially earmarked for third-party interest groups approved by the Justice Department and HUD without requiring any proof of how the funds will be spent,” Sperry continued. “Many of the recipients so far are radical Leftist organizations who solicited the settlement cash from the administration even though they were not parties to the lawsuits, records show.”

Cause of Action Institute Vice President Julie Smith asserts that Obama got things done through unscrupulous behavior that went relatively unreported by the mainstream media and unchecked by the government.

“During the Obama administration, groups committed to ‘revolutionary social change’ sent proposals and met with high-level HUD and Justice Department officials to try to get their pieces of the settlement pie,” Smith told The New York Post.

Player 1 …

The National Council of La Raza is one of the three chosen beneficiaries that is now actively militating against Trump and the policies he is trying to push through.

“The Hispanic-rights group strenuously protested the Republican-led ‘skinny’ repeal of the Affordable Care Act after receiving at least $1.5 million from the Obama regime’s bank settlement funds, congressional researchers say,” Sperry noted. “The notoriously radical organization – which advocates on behalf of illegal immigrants – argued the Trump proposal would have a ‘harmful impact’ on the Hispanic community, including stripping potentially ‘8 million Latinos’ of medical coverage.”

Messaging put out by the Obama-funded group is a big reason why the problematic ObamaCare is still around – despite all of Trump’s attempts to dismantle it thus far.

“The Latino community cannot afford a repeal of the ACA,” La Raza alerted its members as it urged them to oppose Trump’s legislation via email alerts, according to the Post.

The great influence of La Raza stretched across political lines.

“In July, the group held a large rally to protest the repeal effort in Arizona – GOP Sen. John McCain’s home state,” Sperry stressed. “The event is said to have influenced McCain’s decision to cast the deciding vote to kill the proposal.”

The pro-Mexican immigration group has done its best to portray Trump as a merciless racist for trying to control the border.

“La Raza has a long and checkered history of promoting illegal immigration and advocating for welfare benefits and even driver’s licenses for undocumented Latino immigrants,” Sperry informed. “Currently, it’s lobbying (under a new and less controversial name, UnidosUS) against what it calls ‘the Trump administration’s senseless and Draconian anti-immigrant policies,’ fighting specifically GOP bills ‘to fund [the] immoral border wall’ with Mexico.”

Labeling Trump as an oppressor and inciting anger is all part of La Raza’s game plan.

“President Trump has again chosen to appease the bigots in his base,” La Raza declared in statement appearing on its website. “It’s time to translate injustice into action.”

La Raza’s history of opposing Trump is extensive … and relentless.

“During last year’s presidential campaign, La Raza’s Chicago branch was among the groups that deployed thousands of protesters to the University of Illinois at Chicago, forcing then-candidate Trump to cancel a scheduled event there for safety reasons,” Sperry explained. “La Raza works closely with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and has teamed up with the anti-Trump resistance group, Indivisible, which was co-founded by La Raza alumnus Angel Padilla. Indivisible is working with La Raza and its affiliates to make sure ‘any bill that punishes sanctuary cities never goes to Trump’s desk to become law.’ They are encouraging activists to send postcards with pre-printed messages on immigration and health care to moderate GOP senators.”

Players 2 and 3

The National Urban League and the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) were the other two groups to which Obama successfully funneled millions in order to wreak havoc on the Trump administration.

“After receiving at least $1.2 million from the bank-settlement slush fund, the African-American advocacy group solicited its supporters to oppose efforts to repeal ObamaCare by signing a letter to senators arguing ‘African-Americans stand to be disproportionately impacted,’” Sperry informed about the National Urban League. “It claimed more than 5 million black people would lose coverage under repeal legislation.”

Obama made sure that NCRC also played a huge role in derailing what Trump has been working to get done since the campaign trail – again playing the race card.

“Since hauling in at least $2.6 million in funds under settlement in the Obama-era mortgage suits, the liberal housing-rights group has slammed tax-reform proposals by the Trump administration as unfair, while trying to block efforts to privatize mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, claiming doing so would ‘deepen the racial wealth gap,’” Sperry recounted. “NCRC is also actively lobbying against regulatory repeal of many provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.”

NCRC has effectively infiltrated the nation’s capital to railroad what the president is trying to accomplish on many fronts.

“The Washington-based group boasts more than 600 member organizations who lobby lawmakers through list-serves, mailings, sign-on letters and conference calls,” he continued. “Though it’s assumed that funds distributed to such ‘qualified organizations’ will be used for housing assistance, the bank-settlement agreements do not enforce how the funds are spent.”

Competitive Enterprise Institute Senior Fellow John Berlau is confident that money from the aforementioned lawsuits is fueling numerous anti-Trump machinations in Washington.

“It stands to reason that some of the settlement funds have helped bankroll the resistance [to Trump’s agenda]” Berlau impressed, according to the Post.

More exposure

The full extent of Obama’s financial maneuverings to trash Trump’s agenda is not yet known, but plans are in the works to find out.

“It’s not clear how much money, in all, has been diverted from settlement funds to these and other Left-wing organizations,” Sperry concluded. “Attorney General Jeff Sessions has ordered a full audit of the funds while discontinuing the practice of funneling Justice Department settlements to third-party groups.”

In fact, a new policy will now be followed to make sure that the shenanigans pulled off by the Obama administrations will no longer take place while presidents are in office.

“The Justice Department announced [last] Wednesday it will no longer allow prosecutors to strike settlement agreements with big companies directing them to make payouts to outside groups, ending an Obama-era practice that Republicans decried as a ‘slush fund’ that padded the accounts of liberal interest groups,” Townhall’s Matt Vespa revealed. “In a memo sent to 94 U.S. attorneys’ offices early [last] Wednesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said he would end the practice that allowed companies to meet settlement burdens by giving money to groups that were neither victims nor parties to the case.”

Instead of the money going to support the agendas of politically motivated special interest groups, Sessions insisted that the Treasury Department or victims should receive the funds.

“When the federal government settles a case against a corporate wrongdoer, any settlement funds should go first to the victims and then to the American people – not to bankroll third-party special interest groups or the political friends of whoever is in power,” Sessions stated, according to Townhall.

The problem with the financial maneuverings of the Obama administration has been something that Republicans have been trying to deal with for some time now.

“Conservatives have long fought the policy introduced under the Obama administration,” Fox News reported. “Earlier this year, Republican lawmakers introduced legislation that would prohibit the Department of Justice from requiring defendants to donate money to outside groups, after concerns that the settlements bypass congressional appropriations processes.”

Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) introduced the bill to counter what Obama and his cronies tried to pull over on Trump and other conservatives in office.

“This bill is oversight and action,” Goodlatte explained, according to Fox News. “Congress must not tolerate Justice Department political appointees using settlements to funnel money to their liberal friends. This is also an institutional issue. Once direct victims have been compensated, deciding what to do with additional funds recovered from defendants becomes a policy question properly decided by elected representatives in Congress, not agency bureaucrats or prosecutors.”
