Iran expanding military base in eastern Syria, satellite images show

Images released by ImageSat International indicate Iran, whose IRGC forces are deployed in Syria extensively, is building a new weapons storage facility at the Imam Ali military base in the country’s east. Construction includes a tunnel capable of holding advanced weapons systems.

New satellite images released Wednesday suggest that Iran is building a new underground weapons storage facility in a military base in eastern Syria.

Photos by ImageSat International show extensive construction at the Imam Ali military base in the al-Bukamal region in eastern Syria, near the Iraqi border.

Work apparently includes the construction of a tunnel, as images captured on May 12 show bulldozers at the entrance of the structure estimated to be around 15 feet wide.

Such a tunnel would be capable of holding advanced weapons systems, shipments of which to the region Israel has previously admitted to foiling.

Iran has been heavily invested in Syria since the civil war erupted there in 2011. Iranian military forces, including its Revolutionary Guard Corps, have been deployed in the country for years, with aim of expanding the Islamic republic’s grip on the Middle East.

Israel has stated that it will not tolerate Iranian presence on its northern border and has, in the past, admitted to mounting hundreds of strikes targeting Iranian and IRGC assets in Syria.

According to Fox News, ImageSat analysts’ conclusion that the tunnel can be used for the storage of advanced weapons systems was drawn from looking at similar tunnels that were dug over the past nine months on the same complex.

One such tunnel, 2 miles away, was bombed in March, forcing the Iranians to abruptly stop construction, the report said.

“The tunnel is fit to be used as a shelter and storage for trucks and vehicles, including vehicles carrying advanced missile weapon systems,” the report quoted ImageSat’s assessment.

Also on Wednesday, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah taunted Israel’s Defense Minister Naftali Bennett over his ambition to drive Iran out of Syria by the end of 2020.

“Bennett said stupidly that by the end of 2020 he will expel Iran from Syria. Take notice of that date – end of 2020 – and we shall see,” the head of the Lebanon-based Iranian-backed terrorist group said.

“Bennet tried to create a false narrative and lie to the Israeli public when he talked about Israel’s achievements in Syria at the expense of Syria and Iran.

“Israel sees the missile production capability on Syrian soil a threat, which is why it attacks everything connected with missile production in Syria,” he said.

Last week after a series of alleged Israeli airstrikes in Syria, Bennett declared Israel will continue to pursue operations in Syria until Iran withdraws all of its forces from the country.

Muslim astonished by Jesus’ healing touch

As a Muslim, Khaleed Matmati was skeptical that Jesus would take away the pain from his mouth infection. But after prayer he was so astonished when the pain was gone the next morning.

“I started punching myself in my face, trying to make some kind of pain in my teeth and my face,” Khaleed says on a CBN video. “I realized Jesus was God. I just told Him, ‘Okay, Jesus, I give you my life.’”

Khaleed grew up as a Muslim immigrant who wasn’t particularly drawn to the rigorous disciplines of Islam. What drew him was music.

“I always believed that Allah was God,” he says. “But growing up in high school I wanted to have fun. I saw everybody else having fun. What’s fun about not smoking pot? What’s fun about not drinking? What’s fun about not partying? I thought, ‘Later on when I become a parent and have children, then I’ll be a good Muslim.’”

When worship leader Eddie James met Khaleed, the Lord spoke to him about taking Khaleed on the road with him. Even though Khaleed wasn’t Christian, Eddie James hired him because God had told him that Khaleed would convert.

“It was right after 9/11 had happened, and Eddie was not trying to take no Muslim into his ministry,” Khaleed says now laughing.

Khaleed didn’t care for the religion. What he liked was the chance to learn music. ”I thought this was my big break,” he says. “I wanted to learn what I could from Eddie and go and do my own thing.”

His initial sign from God was on his first stop in Nashville Tennessee.

It started off with his friend David, who got bitten by a bug, which later began to swell.

They were staying in a Christian’s house and the mother of the household announced she would pray for David.

“This lady has gotta be out of her mind,” Khaleed thought to himself at the time. “Jesus healing a hand? That’s the stuff they do on TV. Who believes that crap?”

She prayed, and then — to Khaleed’s astonishment — the swelling went down.

“Right in front of my face, the swelling goes away,” Khaleed remembers. “You couldn’t even tell anything was wrong with his hand.”

After he saw that, Khaleed wondered if he himself could be healed. He had been experiencing pain due to an infection in his mouth and gums.

“Can you do for my mouth what I saw you do for his hand?” he asked.

“When she started praying for me, the pain was gone,” he recalls. “I needed a minute to comes to grips with what just happened. I remember sitting in the chair after she prayed for me thinking, ‘Oh my God, my whole life is going to change.’”

Still, Khaleed was not ready to ditch Islam. So he thought that perhaps the painkillers he’d been taking had finally kicked in. They asked him if he was healed. He responded: “Let me tell you in the morning” after the painkillers will have worn off.

The next morning, he woke up and began munching sugar molasses cookies. As he savored them, he swished them around in his mouth trying to re-provoke the pain.

“There was absolutely no pain,” he says. “I began to really start freaking out. I began to start punching myself in the face, trying to make some kind of pain in my teeth and in my mouth. I realized that Jesus was God.

“I never knew that God would be involved in a human life so personally that he would set them free and deliver them and care enough to heal them,” he says.

A month later on the road in Alabama, God impressed this on his heart: If you want to know if this is real, stand up and see for yourself.

“Okay, Lord, just show me whatever you want to show me,” he responded.

People prayed for him.

“My knees just turned like rubber,” he says.

He fell under the power of God.

“God, Jesus, Whoever you are, I really want to know who you are,” he prayed. “I want to have all that you got.”

Then he felt God take him up to Heaven — apparently in a vision.

“The best way for me to describe it is that if love had a color it’s all that I saw,” he remembers. “I never experienced a love and peace like I felt at that moment. I just had an encounter with Him.”

The rest of his family is slow to respond to Jesus.

“I’m just so happy that I found Christ and that I have a Heavenly Father,” he says

American Missionary Pilot Dies in Plane Crash While Delivering Humanitarian Aid

Died: Joyce Lin, Missionary Pilot Transporting Coronavirus Supplies

On Tuesday morning, an American missionary pilot perished in a plane crash.

According to The Christian Post, Joyce Lin, 40, was en route to deliver supplies to remote Indonesian villages battling the novel coronavirus when her plane went down.

Lin worked as a pilot for The Mission Aviation Fellowship delivering humanitarian aid, Bible translators and missionaries to some of the world’s most remote areas. She also worked as an IT specialist for the ministry.

“The Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) family is deeply saddened by the loss of their colleague and friend, Joyce Lin”, MAF said in a statement Tuesday.

Reportedly, Lin had taken off from the Sentani, Papua, Indonesia airport Tuesday morning to deliver goods to “the village of Mamit in the Papua highlands.” The plane was carrying “COVID-19 rapid test kits for the local clinic.”

Despite travel restrictions in Indonesia due to COVID-19, MAF was granted permission in flying cargo and helping people with medical emergencies.

According to the statement from MAF, “within minutes of takeoff, [Lin] reported an emergency and the aircraft descended into Lake Sentani. Joyce was the only person on the airplane.”

According to police spokesman Ahmad Musthofa Kamal Papua, Lin reported having technical issues two minutes after takeoff, NBC 4 reports.

The pilot had requested to return to the airport, but the control tower had lost contact with Lin. She crashed only moments later.

According to a local source, Papua is known for its challenging flying conditions due to its rugged terrain and unstable weather.

MAF President David Holsten noted that Lin’s crash was MAF’s first fatal accident in 23 years, Christianity Today reports.

The crash is currently under investigation.

According to The Christian Post, Lin earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s of Engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

She also earned a Master’s of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

Lin was raised in Colorado and Maryland. She is survived by her two sisters and her parents.

Christian Families Slain in Their Homes in Kaduna State, Nigeria

JOSNigeria (Morning Star News) – Muslim Fulani herdsmen slaughtered families in Christian areas of Nigeria on Monday (May 11), killing 17 men, women and children in Kaduna state days after a pastor and missionary were abducted, sources said.

“Armed Fulani militia” struck predominantly Christian Gonan Rogo village, Kajuru County, less than 40 miles from the city of Kaduna in the southern part of the state, at 11:30 p.m., said Luka Binniyat, spokesman for the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU), in a press statement. Muslim Fulani residents of the village had slipped away the night before, he said.

“They broke into the home of Jonathan Yakubu, 40, and slaughtered him,” Binniyat said. “They also killed his wife, Sheba Yakubu, 32, and hacked to death their only three children, Patience, 13; Revelation, 6; and Rejoice, 4, thus wiping out the entire Yakubu household. We met relations of the Yakubu’s who were sobbing beyond consolation in front of the house Yakubu had built.”

Six others were injured in the overnight attack, and the Fulani also stole seven head of cattle, he said.

“From this compound, trails of blood led to another gory scene, where Kauna Magaji was killed along with her daughter, Faith Magaji, who died of grisly cutlass cuts to their heads,” Binniyat said. “Still not done, the killers went to another compound, where they met Saraunia Lucky, 25, newly married and who had given birth to her baby three months ago. With the baby cuddled in her arms in fear, she was shot dead.”

A bullet also struck her infant girl’s head, who somehow survived, he said.

“When we visited the village, the baby was nursed by its auntie, who also looked helpless,” Binniyat said, adding that the baby was drinking only water. “She told us that where she could buy infant milk [formula] was under lockdown.”

Church leaders from Albarka Baptist Church, Gwari Avenue, Kaduna, who came to the village to offer condolences rushed the baby to a hospital, where the bullet was removed, and her aunt also received care in the city of Kaduna, he said.

Surveying the village the day after the attack, Binniyat and his team found 6-year-old John Paul hacked to death. Also killed in their homes, he said, were Asanalo Magaji, 32; Yayo Magaji, 13; Paul Bawa, 27; and his 25-year-old wife, Rahila, 25.

At another property, 60-year-old Mailafia Dalhatu was killed as he tried to flee; at another, Binniyat said, Dalhatu’s younger brother, 56-year-old Yaro Dalhatu, was killed along with his wife, Saratu, 45, and their granddaughter, 14-year-old Blessing Yari.

“Another boy, called Popular Teacher, just 17, was gunned down and killed,” he said. “In total, no fewer than 17 persons were murdered in cold blood for no apparent reason by persons who the villagers indentified as Fulani.”

Six people were receiving treatment at various hospitals, he said. The home of one villager, Liberty Yari, was destroyed, but he managed to escape with his family, Binniyat said.

“Their Fulani neighbors, some who have been living around the community for 40 years, had all quietly left in the night before the attack,” he said. “We left the village while a grave was being dug for the mass burial of the victims. There were no single security personnel in the village.”

The SOKAPU team characterized the slaughter as horror and cruelty inflicted on the village of poor, ethnic Adara residents.

“It is therefore clear that while the Kaduna state government is enforcing the lockdown against COVID-19 with all its might, it has little or no interest in securing our law-abiding, defenseless communities against these unrelenting massacres and ethnic cleansing,” Binniyat said. “We call on all men and women of conscience, groups, organizations and the international community to assist us in persuading the government of Kaduna state and the federal government of Nigeria to save us from the swords and bullets of these outlaws.”

Awema Maisamari, president of the Adara Development Association (ADA), told Morning Star News by text message 12 of the residents were killed in the village, and the bodies of five others were recovered in the bush.

“Some were killed with machetes, some were killed by gunshots,” Maisamari said. “Some houses were burned. Some of those who escaped to the bush are still missing.”

Eight Others Killed

On Tuesday night and Wednesday morning (May 13), Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed eight more people in predominantly Christian Kajuru County in their homes, Maisamari said.

The herdsmen attacked Makyali village at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, killing seven, while attacks on Bakin Kogi and Idanu took place between 7 p.m. the previous evening and 7 a.m. on Wednesday, he said.

“In Makyali village, the herdsmen killed five of our people by shooting them in their houses as they were asleep, while two others were killed in nearby bushes as they tried to escape  from the herdsmen; their corpses were later recovered from the bushes,” Maisamari said. “In Idanu village, one person was killed and two others were injured, while in Bakin Kogi, no life was lost as the villagers escaped, but their houses were burnt.”

He was able to identify five of the Christians killed on Wednesday (May 13) as Luka Paymaster, 80; Yaki Luka, 35; Francis Daniel, 37; Akilu Aruwa, 46; and Laraba Danmori, 70. In addition, 30-year-old Inusa Peter was injured in the attack, he said.

The victims were members of Baptist, Assemblies of God, Catholic and Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) churches, according to Maisamari.

Pastor, Missionary Kidnapped

In Chikun County, herdsmen kidnapped the Rev. Reuben Danbala on Saturday (May 9) from his post at Ungwan Badole, also known as Ungwan Mission, according to missions agency Global Glorious Missions.

Herdsmen had attacked Ungwan Badole the previous night, killing three Christians, and Pastor Danbala had escaped; when he returned on Saturday to retrieve vital missions equipment, the herdsmen abducted him, said Samuel Yahaya, a leader with Global Glorious Missions.

“The herdsmen contacted Danbala’s wife on phone on Sunday, May 10, informing her that they’re holding her husband captive,” Yahaya said. “We solicit your intercession for God’s intervention in rescuing Danbala from his captors.”

Herdsmen the night of May 5 also kidnapped a female missionary from Cameroon in Damishi village, Chikun County, in an attack on a Christian couple training her, according to the Rev. Gideon Para-Mallam, president of the Peace Foundation.

Muslim Fulani herdsmen attacked Elisha Kureh and his wife Dupe at about 11 p.m, the second time in three years, Pastor Para-Mallam said.

“This time around they thoroughly beat up his wife, who refused to follow them,” Pastor Para-Mallam told Morning Star News. “The Lord gave her courage to dare them by boldly stating that she was ready for heaven should they chose to kill her. Frustrated by her audacity, they used every available object they could lay hands on to use in beating her. Curiously, they did not shoot her.”

She was in pain but recovering, he said.

“Unfortunately, they kidnapped one of the female disciples who came in from Cameroon,” he said. “This Cameroonian lady was kidnapped by these Fulani herdsmen in 2017, and 1 million naira [US$2,560] was paid to secure her release and three others.”

The herdsmen are demanding 7 million naira (US$17,908) for her release this time, he said.

“What a nightmare experience in a mission base,” Pastor Para-Mallam said. “Discussions are now ongoing for the girl’s release. To God’s glory, the husband and other members of the family were shielded. Please pray that God will touch their hearts not to harm this young innocent Cameroonian girl.”

Church Building Bombed

On May 7 in Chikun County, a bomb hit an Assemblies of God Church building in Kabrasha village, destroying it and damaging nearby homes, sources said.

A military spokesman acknowledged that government troops with air support partially damaged the church building and three houses inadvertently while pursuing “bandits,” the government term for Muslim Fulani herdsmen, but stopped short of saying the damage came from a bomb from a military helicopter.

An area leader, however, said the church building was destroyed by a bomb from a helicopter that had been hovering in the area for days. Local community leader Peter Aboki, president of the Gbagyi Development Association (GDA), said in a statement that there were no casualties as many villagers were working in farm fields when the bomb hit around 2 p.m.

“Hours after the incident, a group of people numbering about 100 passed through the village carrying guns,” Aboki said. “One of them was carrying a flag which is not a Nigerian flag, one other person was making some incantations in Arabic. We suspect that this flag could be an insurgents’ flag. For somebody to be carrying a flag other than the Nigeria flag means something.”

Maj. Gen. John Eneche, the military spokesman, said the operation targeted “bandits’ hideouts around Mashigi Galbi, Damba Community and Kabarasha villages” in Gwagwada District. He said a panel will investigate the incident in collaboration with Kaduna state government, and that compensation would be given to the owners of the buildings.

On Jan. 30, Christian Solidarity International (CSI) issued a genocide warning for Nigeria, calling on the Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council to take action. CSI issued the call in response to “a rising tide of violence directed against Nigerian Christians and others classified as ‘infidels’ by Islamist militants in the country’s north and middle belt regions.’”

Nigeria ranked 12th on Open Doors’ 2020 World Watch List of countries where Christians suffer the most persecution but second in the number of Christians killed for their faith, behind Pakistan.

Into His Wonderful Path

By George C Duke

There are two paths that people walk in this life. Both are eternal . One leads to eternal death and the other leads to eternal life . Let it be realized at this point that death in the bible never was defined as ceasing to exist. The Greek word for death was “Thanatos”. It always meant separation. Natural death is separation of the Body and Spirit. Spiritual death is separation of man and God. Eternal spiritual death means the eternal separation of man and God. Life ( Greek word “zoe” ) as defined in the bible means union. Spiritual eternal life then means a eternal union between man and God. This is only brought about by careful selection of the path that you travel.
This bible study is designed to help you to get onto the right path by
1-Righly dividing the word of God, 2-Revealing the importance of believing the apostles doctrine for Christians today. 3-and revealing what the apostles taught about a: Salvation b: Jesus Christ.
Read 2 Timothy 2:15
Paul writing to Timothy says that we must rightly divide the word of God.
Read Hebrews 9:16-17
What must occur before a testament is in effect? (Death of the Testator) Testament is the same as a will so the writer of the will must die for it to be placed in effect.

In rightly dividing the word of God we find there are four divisions ofthe New Testament.
1-The first division is THE GOSPELS which covers the birth, life, death of John the Baptist, birth and the life, words, and works of Jesus Christ as well as his death, burial, and resurrection. Since the testator dies at the end of these books there is no New Testament church established in the gospels. Read the opening of the book of Acts.
Why are there 4 different books in the Gospel? The answer is that the gospels were written for people of different cultures to be able to understand them. The Gospels were Written to the following cultures:
The book of Matthew who was the Jewish tax collector an Apostle was written to the Jews
The book of Mark which is his Roman name was written to the Romans
The book of Luke a physician was written to the Gentiles
The book of John was written to the church that we might know that Jesus Christ was the son of God.

2-The second division is the book of THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES which covers the actions, teaching and preaching of the Apostles. Jesus Christ had personally trained these men to establish the New Testament church and this is a record of them fulfilling the task. This book could be called the book for salvation.

3-The third division is called THE EPISTLES and covers the letters written by the Apostles to either Churches or Christian Individuals. Since these people were already saved they were not for the purpose of salvation. They were written to teach
Christians how to: 1-Live for God 2- How to Worship 3-Church Discipline 4-How to develop the fruit of the spirit. 5-To encourage and to strengthen them and their faith.

4-The fourth division is the book of PROPHECY which is the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ This book contains prophetical writings that Jesus Christ revealed to John.
