Strange Doctrines

The Apostle Paul warned us in Hebrews 13: 9Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

1-Let’s begin with a strange story that came out of Michigan where a group of pot supporters is gathering and calling themselves “marijuana missionaries” consisting of approximately 50 people gathering on Sundays in South Lansing, Michigan for the debut of a new church called “The First Cannabis Church of Logic and Reason.” The gathering is a kick-off for what organizer Jeremy Hall hopes will become monthly meetings celebrating cannabis’ spiritual properties.

2-Then we move to the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. who has already has made itself controversial by its stance against Israel, and recently rose eyebrows after lifting up prayers to Allah at its General Assembly meeting recently. The prayers were: “Allah bless us and bless our families and bless our Lord. Lead us on the straight path—the path of all prophets: Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad.” Now could you imagine the apostles approving of this foolishness?

3-Then there was an article reported by Jennifer Leclaire from Charisma about a church called “Apologia Church” that recently came up with a disturbing way to raise funds for its church plant in Hawaii. In the report, it talked about Marcus Pittman, its leader, offering tattoos and a Bible conference complete with a beer flight, and sampling of beers much like a wine tasting, to pick up some cash for the church plant! Pittman even stated in says in a YouTube video, “So, it’s pretty cool.” As he sees it, the tattoos and beer flights are cooler than a bake sale.

4-Next was the United Methodists that recently nominated three “Openly Homosexual Candidates” for Bishop despite prohibition from the denomination. The Word of God clearly states that the time would come when many would depart from the faith and give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.

5-Then we have the recent controversy that has stirred from a recent appearance of Mo’nique and her husband in a recent interview on the new program called The Preachers where Mo’Nique was quite open about her open marriage with husband Sidney Hicks, and received a stamp of approval from host and “pastor” Jamal Bryant, who is the pastor and founder of Empowerment Temple AME Church in Baltimore, Maryland.

6-And finally, we knew it was coming, but reports nationwide are outlining how purported churches across the country are being pulled in by one of the latest societal crazes: Pokemon Go! And of course, they are using this game to draw or “attract” the masses to their church in hopes of filling the pews! What ever happened to lifting up Jesus and letting him draw all men unto Himself? What we need in this hour is not some attraction and gimmick wrapped in the latest cultural craze to attract the masses to fill the pews. What we need is to re-establish the plumb line and rebuild the altars of repentance, the preaching of the Gospel and the operation of the Holy Spirit to draw men unto repentance and salvation! Are you steadfast in Christ and His Word or have you strayed from the truth and are being carried away by strange and various “New Teachings” and “Doctrines” that are not biblically sound?

7-Beware of those that teach standards for salvation

2 Timothy 4:3-5: For the time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine, but they will gather to themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, having itching ears, and they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn to myths. But be self-controlled in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, and prove your ministry.

TONGUES A SIGN?

TONGUES A SIGN?
THOUSANDS RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST BAPTISM DAILY

By Editor George Duke
YES the Acts 2: experience is being fulfilled today as it was in the beginning of the Church. Today there are literally thousands upon thousands that are receiving their personal experience in receiving Christ the bible way as outlined in Acts chapter 2. But there are those have failed to receive. Why? Some have sought for it then gave up. If you are in this category I would like to ask you to assess your self because Jesus Christ desires to fill you with his Spirit. Here are some assessments you might consider. 1-Call of God 2- Faith 3-Repentance Let me share my thoughts with you regarding each of these. When you feel the Spirit of God touch your life, this is the call of God. Many err and think I felt him now I am saved. So they stop there. That’s why Jesus said in Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen. Realize the call of God then call upon God with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Next you must have faith in God. Many times one receives the call, calls upon God but does not exercise faith. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Many times we give up because of our lack of faith. Then there is also the matter that we may not be having our faith lifted by what we are hearing. If we attend a Assembly that does not practice or preach receiving the Holy Ghost baptism the bible way then we might not have our faith lifted to a higher level. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Last and of upmost necessity is repentance. We will never be filled with the Holy Ghost if we do not repent. Repentance entails our asking in faith for forgiveness of our sins and our willingness to forsake our sins. Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.. If you follow the aforementioned then you will receive. Many question God over the Bible experience of the Holy Ghost baptism. The O.T. Tabernacle was a type and a shadow of things to come and has a great illustration of the new birth. A Levite that was called into the Priesthood had to be fore ordained by offering a sacrifice unto the Lord, Washing in the Brazen Laver, and then being anointed with oil by the High Priest before entering into the Holy place. We today who are called of God must also be ordained of God, by offering our self as a living sacrifice through repentance, being baptized in water in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and allowing our High Priest ( Jesus Christ ) to anoint us with his Holy Spirit. If you have not been anointed then make today the day you are.
IS SPEAKING IN TONGUES THE EVIDENCE OF RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT ?
Someone made a comment recently that speaking in tongues was a sign of receiving the Holy Spirit that the UPC propagates. Instantly my mind begin to spin around and around with all the scriptures that reveal that speaking in tongues is the Bible sign of receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. What astounded me more was this comment was being made by a person that I had always thought to have received the Baptism in this manner. Today I would like to set out proof from the bible that Speaking in tongues is the only definitive evidence given in the bible as to the infilling of the Holy Spirit. First of all many people mistake and err in the Spirit of God knocking on their door as to being filled with his Spirit. As a result of this they go through life thinking they were filled with the Holy Spirit and in actuality they received the knock but never knew that they had to open the door. Faith and repentance are the only door openers and both must be present for God to accept us. We can verbally say we accept Christ but if we have not Faith and Repentance then he will turn away from our offering. In Topeka Kansas at the Bethel Bible college at the turn of the 20th Century Rev. Parham asked the students to fast, pray, and search the scriptures for the evidence. The outcome of this was that all agreed that speaking in tongues was the evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit, yet none of them had this experience. Here I must add that many Christians when confronted with this issue will normally shy away from seeking for the real Baptism and instead offer excuses why they do not need to receive the Holy Spirit the bible way. The bible declares that in order for a word to be established there has to be 2 or more witness’s. In Acts 2, Act 10, and Acts 19 the description was that the way of receiving the Baptism was by them speaking in Tongues. Yes in each of the examples given there were other things mentioned such as Acts 2 Tongues of fire and a rush ing wind. Acts 10 says they magnified God. Acts 19 states that they prophesied. The fact is none of these things were repeated 2 or three times. As there is no 2nd witness then they can not be construed as the evidence. But they can accompany the evidence. So who were the examples in each of these examples of being filled with the Baptism of the Holy Ghost? Acts 2 were the Disciples and the Jews. Acts 10 was the Gentiles. Acts 19 was the disciples of John the Baptist. The Apostle Paul in his writings to the Church at Corinth was not speaking about the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and the evidence. He was speaking about the gifts of the Spirit that one can be used in after they have the Baptism. As a mater of fact he lets us know that he speaks in tongues and forbids us to forbid others not to. There are many many questions regarding the speaking in other tongues as the evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost and I would like for you to read the following.

? IS SPEAKING IN TONGUES REAL?
I have learned. that you can’t base an opinion on something just because it’s never happened to you. Just because it’s not happening to me doesn’t mean it’s not real or that others are faking it. We are so quick to judge at times and so quick to shut God out and God never gets a chance to do in us what he always wanted to. We have replaced something that’s real with a judgment or a false accusation.
1. What is speaking in tongues ? – Speaking in tongues merely means to speak in another language (earthly or heavenly that is not your native tongue.
2. Is tongues for today? – God is the same yesterday-today-& forever.  Jesus came to earth and established the New Testament church and in that church they spoke in tongues and were baptized in water in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 2:38                       1 Corinthians 14: 39 reads – “Do not forbid speaking in tongues.”
3. What’s the point of speaking in tongues? – Well, the bible says: 1 Corinthians 14:4 – “The one who speaks in tongues builds up himself.” Now what better statement is that! So if I don’t speak in tongues I lack the edification I really need everyday. It builds up your spirit man within to speak in tongues.
4. Do people fake it? – Yes. People fake salvation, people fake their prayers people fake who they really are when they go to church on Sunday. So yes-some people may fake it. Kids can fake it because they see another sibling receive it and the attention they get .  But that’s not for us to get caught up in. I know in my spirit what is right and I know because the spirit of God gives me discernment to those things
5-Can Satan cause people to speak in tongues? Yes he can especially if one is not sincere or has not truly repented of their sins.

3.The Accepted Trinity

4.TRINITY DEFINED◦The dogma of the Trinity

◦The Trinity is the term employed to signify the central doctrine of the Christian religion – the truth that in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these Three Persons, being truly distinct one from another.

◦Thus, in the words of the Athanasian Creed; "the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God." In this Trinity of Persons the Son is begotten of the Father by an eternal generation, and the Holy Spirit proceeds by an eternal procession from the Father and the Son. Yet, notwithstanding this difference as to origin, the Persons are co-eternal and co-equal: all alike are uncreated and omnipotent. This, the Church teaches, is the revelation regarding God's nature which Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came upon earth to deliver to the world: and which she proposes to man as the foundation of her whole dogmatic system.

The scriptures conflict with this definition : John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man .

But what does the bible say? Jn 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. (Jesus is speaking as the Son of God Son of God is the Flesh)
